The famous old ground has to be at its very best tonight!
This boys and girls is fucking massive isn't it. Last F.A cup game at Upton Park under the lights it's what we all dreamed about.

We need to really get behind them from the start it's got to be close to the atmos when we played Ipswitch back in the play off game.

I'm a nervous reck but let's fucking so this West Ham!!!

Atmosphere was decent enough where I was in the BML, towards the back. Kudos to the bloke who smuggled in a bottle of apple vodka.

Far Cough

I only just saw the message you posted yesterday. I posted once and left just after. Fist bump will have to wait until next time, whenever that is.

In response to the OP, yes, it was a bit shit considering how big the match was. I think everyone was bit nervous by kick off and the way the match shaped up did nothing to help that. Looking down and having my celebrations killed by seeing the linesman's flag up at the end will haunt me for a while. Had that goal stood, the atmosphere may well have lived up to expectations for extra time, but alas.........

Fucking bollocks, I'm so gutted. I won't hide it.

ornchurch, I would imagine a lot of them were one timers in that particular seat, so wouldn't have had anything to compare with but having said that, as I only cheer on the team and sing when the crowd sings, with no running commentary and constantly berating players every move like the two blokes either side of me, I doubt they would have much to complain about in my case?

All the people moaning about having different people around them last night; how do you think they felt having you amongst them?

I was way up in the west upper last night, a complete set of mongs I have never before encountered at a West Ham game in all my life, it was like getting a running commentary throughout the game, couldn't wait to get the fuck out of there

You get the day-trippers for Cup games. Doesn't help.

We were surrounded by strangers last night.

And each and every one of them were West Ham supporters with as much validity and right to be there as any Season Ticket holder.

Splitting up the whole of the TBL don't help tbh, at least you won't have that problem next year...

Kept elbowing one of them in the head by mistake. The ESU is not designed for 6ft 2in + fans.

Man United have the best away support in the country, we couldn't compete last night.

Too many utter bores in the West who corridors nothing to the atmosphere.

Re: The famous old ground has to be at its very best tonight!
The atmosphere wasn't as good as I was expecting and a drip sitting behind me asked if I could sit down after 10mins.

The whole of last night was a big anti climax.

Re: The famous old ground has to be at its very best tonight!
You watch right from the kick off, they were at us and we could not get the ball out of our area for the first five minutes. That was a big part of their strategy, to quieten the crowd. Only towards the end when they released their grip and let us in, you can see what an advantage being at home was, but they stopped us playing for most of the game and it worked.

Re: The famous old ground has to be at its very best tonight!
mallard.... I think the Palace play off final was so shit as everyone was

a) Pissed out of their brain
b) stoned

Had a line of old' Earl of Wakefield lads in front of us for that game and half were in a coma... one bloke was asleep for virtually the whole game..!

Re: The famous old ground has to be at its very best tonight!
It was a very poor atmosphere during the game for such a big match but I got the sense, even before the game, fans had been to these big games before and seen us fail so many times, they weren't getting their hopes too up. If we had scored first, the crowd would have taken off, as it was we sat there nervous and edgy almost all night.

mallard 10:46 Thu Apr 14
Re: The famous old ground has to be at its very best tonight!
The atmosphere reminded me of the Play-Off final against Palace, when after a while, you just realised it wasn't going to be our day and things turned flat

We were let down by a woeful performance last night.

Fans did their best.

If we had scored first; the place would've been fucking rocking.

Re: The famous old ground has to be at its very best tonight!
Watched on the telly box and have to say our support did come across as a bit poor but then that's not overly surprising given the performance.

Even the Payet song seemed to be given a bit of a rest - i said to my son after 30 seconds " have they done the Payet song yet " and he replied " only twice ". Thought that was quite funny for a 12 year old
